Andellian.com is operated by Alexander Dean and Andellian Press. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when you use the site, how that information is used, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
Andellian Readers subscriptions
When you subscribe to Andellian Readers, we collect the email address you provide and information associated with the subscription, such as confirmation status, signup date, and newsletter engagement data generated by the email service.
The site uses double opt-in. Your subscription becomes active only after you confirm it through the email sent to the address you provided.
Advance reader copy requests
When you request an advance reader copy (ARC) of Forge and Shadow, we collect the email address you provide and information associated with that request, such as confirmation status and delivery information. The ARC request also uses double opt-in, so we send the ARC only after you confirm the request.
ARC requests are used to fulfill that ARC request and are kept in a separate ARC reader group. Requesting an ARC does not subscribe you to the general Andellian Readers newsletter.
Messages you send
When you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.
Technical information
Our hosting, analytics, and email-service providers may process limited technical information needed to deliver, secure, operate, and understand use of the site and mailing list. This may include an IP address, browser or device information, timestamps, referrers, general location, and cookies or similar technologies used by those providers where applicable.
How we use information
We use information collected through Andellian.com to:
- deliver requested stories, ARC files, and mailing-list emails;
- share news, excerpts, lore, maps, publication information, and behind-the-scenes material from Andellian with Andellian Readers;
- maintain and protect the site and mailing list;
- respond to messages and requests;
- understand aggregate site traffic, campaign attribution, site performance, and newsletter performance; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell or rent subscriber information.
MailerLite
We use MailerLite to manage Andellian Readers subscriptions and separate ARC requests, collect confirmations, and deliver automated emails. MailerLite may process subscriber information using cookies, tracking pixels, unique identifiers, and similar technologies in order to provide and improve its services.
The Forge and Shadow ARC request form is assigned only to the ARC reader group. Confirmation and ARC delivery emails are for fulfilling that request; they do not add ARC readers to Andellian Readers or general newsletter marketing.

Cookies, analytics, and performance
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate site traffic, including page views, referrers, general location, browser, operating system, and device type. Vercel states that Web Analytics stores anonymized data and does not use cookies.
We also use Umami Analytics to understand aggregate site traffic and campaign attribution. Umami may process page URLs, referrers, browser and device information, general location, standard UTM campaign parameters, and anonymous event names. On Andellian.com, custom events are limited to non-personal funnel stages, including Free Tale and ARC signup stages. We do not send subscriber email addresses, names, form-field contents, or other personal information to Umami. Umami states that its tracking code does not use cookies and does not collect personal data.
We use Vercel Speed Insights to measure how pages perform for real visitors. Speed Insights may report anonymous performance data such as route and URL, network speed, browser, device type and operating system, country, Web Vital measurements and attribution, SDK information, and event time. Vercel states that Speed Insights does not collect or store information that would identify a visitor or reconstruct a browsing session across pages.
MailerLite and other service providers may use cookies or similar technologies as described above to provide their services. If additional analytics, advertising, or cookie-based services are added later, this policy will be updated and any legally required notice or consent controls will be added before those services are enabled.
How information is shared
Information may be shared only as reasonably necessary with service providers that help operate Andellian.com and the mailing list, including MailerLite, Vercel, Umami, and the site’s hosting or infrastructure providers. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, security, or safety of Andellian Press, site visitors, or others.
Data retention
Subscriber and ARC request information is retained while you remain subscribed or while fulfillment and related records are reasonably needed, including to honor unsubscribe requests, maintain suppression records, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. Email correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond and maintain appropriate business records.
Your choices
You may:
- unsubscribe through the link included in any email;
- request access to or correction of information you have provided;
- request deletion of information, subject to information that must be retained for legal, security, or unsubscribe-record purposes; or
- ask a privacy-related question by contacting us.
Children’s privacy
Andellian.com is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
International processing
Service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Those providers are responsible for applying the safeguards required by the laws that govern their services.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Andellian.com, its mailing list, or its service providers change. The effective date shown above will be revised when material changes are made.
